REDCAR BOROUGH PARKS BOWLS CLUB
The Government has announced that facilities associated with outdoor sports and physical activities, including Lawn Bowls, may now reopen. The rules detailed below have been developed considering the current social distancing regulations issued by the government.
Do not go to the club if you or a member of your household are experiencing any coronavirus (Coviid-19) symptoms in particular a cough, a high temperature or loss of taste or smell. For your own protection follow the advice about self- isolation.
Dress appropriately before you get to the club to avoid the need to change clothes, change shoes immediately before and after the game.
Travel to the green on your own or with members of your own household only - do not offer a lift to, or accept a lift from, anyone outside your household
There will no toilet facilities available at the club. The Club house is closed.
Take any food or drink you might need with you and take your rubbish home, there will be no litter bins available.
Wash or sanitise your hands and sanitise any equipment (including bowls, jacks and mats) you use before and after play – do not assume that the person before you sanitised the equipment thoroughly. Only jacks and mats will be made available for play.
Playing the game
The green will be open Monday to Friday between the hours of 1pm and 5pm. Hourly slots will be 1pm to 2pm, 2.30pm to 3.30pm and 4pm to 5pm which can be booked by calling or texting Sylvia Thacker if there is no reply please leave a message and your call will be returned do not simply end the call.. There will be a break of 30 minutes between slots to ensure that players can leave the club prior to the next session arriving. Do not arrive at the club more than 10 minutes before your booked slot is due to begin. Please be considerate to other members when booking slots this will give an equal opportunity to all those who wish to play. The cost for one hour is £1. Monies should wherever possible be put in an envelope or money bag and placed in the mail box outside the main entrance door.
Play is restricted to 3 rinks only on the South green. Under no circumstances must players use any of the rinks which have not been set out for play. There should only be a maximum of 6 players in the greens area unless there are groups of players from the same household. Spectators are not permitted
You should only play with people from your own household or by yourself or, as long as you stay 2 metres apart with 1 other person from outside your household. Groups of more than 2 people must all be from the same household. This means you cannot have 2 or 3 people from one household plus 1 person from outside the household playing together.
Do not shake hands before, during or after a game
Only one person should handle the mat during a game
Two jacks should be used one at each end of a rink and this should be set by one player only throughout the session.
Do not touch your opponents’ bowls with your hands and do not measure for shots.
Following your Game
When you finish playing change your shoes and leave the club immediately ensuring that you have sanitised all equipment used and that the club is secure.
